Live Pics of the Camaro

The Chevrolet Camaro; we've heard about it endlessly for years. Pre-2006 when the concept was introduced, everyone was wondering if GM would ever make the car again and it was the topic of much discussion.

The Chevrolet Camaro; we've heard about it endlessly for years. Pre-2006 when the concept was introduced, everyone was wondering if GM would ever make the car again and it was the topic of much discussion.

Renderings circulated all over the internet over what the car might look like. It especially got bad after the concept was introduced with much fanfare, with GM keeping up a constant PR drumbeat ever since.

Well the waiting is over and the car is finally here. It has a long waiting list and is proving to be an extremely desirable vehicle in the market. To be quite honest I was quite sick of hearing about the car! Even looking at it. You know a company's PR machine did quite good when you feel like that about a car.

Well I didn't feel that way about the car when I saw it; it is VERY nice in the live and in the sheetmetal. A lot of presence and it lives up to the hype. GM has made an incredible value proposition for it too, with it's low starting price, excellent V6 engine and great fuel economy.

I could see the V6 models pushing some serious volumes. I was listening to GM's Mark LaNeve today saying that the car is sold out for the next 6 months and it's being sold right off the dealer trucks. It has come at just the right time for GM I would say, helping to create positive buzz while the bankruptcy is going on.

My first chance to see the car live came a few weeks ago when I was on the road. I was travelling and on my way saw the Camaro out in front of a Chevrolet dealership. I of course couldn't resist the opportunity to take a few photos of the car for CarThrottle. I encourage you to go and check the car out for yourself at your local dealer! I was a skeptic but left quite impressed.
