Lincoln MKX Spied with Interior Shots

Lincoln's one and only crossover, the MKX, has been spied testing again. This time the interior has been caught as well, in full view. The current MKX is somewhat of a styling anomaly for the Lincoln brand, not exhibiting a familial design language shared with the current products in the Lincoln stable. It certainly does show cues from classic Lincolns like the 61' Continental but the brand is no longer moving in that direction.
This Mid-Cycle Enhancement (MCE) will change that, helping Lincoln bring the MKX in line with the rest of the lineup, as well as improving it's competitiveness in such an important market segment. The Lincoln MKR concept has set the stage for the future of the brand's styling and the MKX is going to adapt to that.
I must say I'm not too impressed with the interior changes that I see. I really like the interior on the current MKX and even the older MKZ. The MKZ actually won design awards for it's interior. Why change a good thing?
Regardless, Lincoln's sales have shown new life as of late, and surprisingly the luxury brand was one of the only to post sales increases last month. Lincoln has the potential to be a real competitor if it can get it's product right. I would like to see dedicated, RWD Lincolns though rather than just modified Fords (as nice as they may be).
How about a production MKR Lincoln? That would really get you back on the map. Also, for more pictures of the spied MKX, head over to Car & Driver.
