The Legend Who Saved His E30 M3 From Hurricane Matthew Is Helping Raise Money For Disaster Relief

Remember the guy whose images of an E30 M3 sheltering in his house went viral? He's using his newfound fame for good, cementing his legend status

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last couple of weeks, you’ll have heard about Randy Jalil - the bonafide legend who saved his BMW E30 M3 from the anger of Hurricane Matthew by parking it in his living room.

His Instagram posts went viral and were reported on all over the world, which had a dramatic effect on his follower count. When Petrolicious tracked him down for an interview, he mentioned that he’d gained about 15,000 followers, but the best part is he’s decided to use his newfound fame for good.

He and another individual designed a T-shirt based on one of the now-famous Instagram pictures and are now selling the shirts, donating the profits for disaster relief efforts in Haiti, a country hit hard by the hurricane. “I’m almost at 30,000 followers because of that [the coverage of his posts], so what I want to do is to spin it to something positive,” he said.

Randy, your legendary status is now set in stone.

If it were really about helping people he’d give more than 25% of the profit to help in Haiti…

You do know, that you need money to run the sale? If he made them more expensive, less people would order, therefore less people would advertise, which would result in less money raised. Know your economics.

When designing my new house, I’ll make a big entrance to the living room, just in case.
