John Cena Is The Fast And Furious Cast Addition We Should Have Seen Coming

As a car-loving, excessively muscular pro-wrestler-turned actor, it’s almost surprising John Cena hasn’t already been in two or three Fast and Furious films already.

With that in mind, former Ford GT owner John Cena being added to the cast of the ninth film in the franchise - which has so far taken over 5 billion dollars at the box office - is a plot twist we should have seen coming. It’s an unexpected John Cena that isn’t really unexpected at all.

Although not yet officially confirmed by F&F officials, the latest member of the ‘family’ was revealed via an uncomfortably close-up Instagram video from Vin Diesel, aka Dominic Torretto.

In it, he said: “Every blue moon I feel like Pablo [Paul Walker] up there sends me someone. Another soldier in the fight for truth. Today, someone came by Toretto Gym that speaks to what Pablo would have brought,” cue a brief pause, and then… it’s John Cena!

Thank you Pablo.

For now, that’s all we have to go on. We don’t know if he’ll be a good guy or a bad guy. Or if, in F&F tradition, he’ll be a baddie that has a change of heart, joining Toretto and his nearest and dearest for a Corona by the time the credits roll.

The as-yet-unnamed ninth Fast and Furious film was due to be released this year, before being pushed back to 2020 to make room for the Hobbs and Shaw spinoff, which is out on 2 August. Production of the former flick will start in June, with F&F veteran Justin Lin on directing duties.

The franchise needs to either be completely refreshed or just let it die and let way for a proper street racer film.

Over 5.1 billion dollars grossed over eight films. Ninth biggest franchise in cinema history. F8 grossed 1.2 billion on its own. Why would they change the formula or let it die?

unpopular opinion: just let the movies go on if they want to. sure they could have ended, but lots of people outside the car community still love FaF and many critics say the movies have got more fun since F5.

if you dont like them dont watch them.
if you want a street racing movie,
just watch actual japanese street racing from the 80s and 90s, cause lets be honest, no ones going to make movies about it anymore.

Truth be told, the movies may not be about cars anymore, but they’re still fun to watch.

My God, Vin spouts some sh1te “another warrior in the fight for truth”. Its only a movie ffs and these are getting further from the truth and reality with each one.
