The yet-unnamed supercar is to be produced by Spanish racing team GTA Motor. They are a Formula racing team, but not F1; they hail from Formula Three. Apparently everyone wants to get in on the game huh?
According to a recent press release from the company, the car has been in development for 3 years, with public announcement about the project announced a year ago. Apparently 5 international patents have been filed related to this car's design. One of them is one for the roof "(which) has a patented system of interior lighting and liquid crystal shading".
Only 99 units of the supercar will be produced. The car is currently undergoing testing ahead of launch and the company said that the tests "realized until now have been a success". The chassis is made by a combination of Kevlar, carbon fiber as well as titanium.
The engine is a V10 unit making 780 horsepower. I wonder if they developed the engine in-house? Would be interesting to find out. Transmission choices are a seven-speed manual sequential-manual gearbox with an automatic system and paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
Apparently this project is one of many the company is planning for the future. Sounds great if they can develop into a Spanish answer to the top-tier manufacturers. Per the timer on the company's website, as of now there are about 22 days and 4 hours left until the car's reveal and official name announcement. Stay tuned!
