Ferrari Enzo II Rendering
With the Enzo's small run done and over with, it's absence leaves Ferarri without a range-topping supercar. Lamborghini just had one if it's own with the super-exclusive Reventon and it looks like a successor to the Enzo might be in the works.
With the Enzo's small run done and over with, it's absence leaves Ferarri without a range-topping supercar. Lamborghini just had one if it's own with the super-exclusive Reventon and it looks like a successor to the Enzo might be in the works. Leftlane News is offering up an idea of what that might look like.
It's interesting though that Leftlane is refering to the vehicle as the Enzo II. I doubt Ferrari will choose to call it that, or even Enzo again.
Ferrari doesn't really do successive model names. They change them with every generation. For instance 360 Modena, to F430 Scuderia. That's not how Ferrari thinks, and certainly not with vehicles like the original Enzo. They are short run vehicles, not a long-term product line that you work to cultivate. Because Enzo is the brand's founder though, that may change things in this instance. Still, don't bank on "Enzo II".
Leftlane's interpretation isn't a revolutionary styling change from the previous Enzo, which was and still is a very radical design. The vehicle in the rendering adopts some of the elements we've been seeing on recent Ferrari's like the 612 Scaglietti and the new California.
I've never been a big fan of the Enzo's styling; if the rendering looks anything like the real thing it will be naturally much better looking then the previous car. Not that it matters; Ferrari never has trouble selling it's vehicles so anything they do will be a success. Stylistically though, this new Enzo is looking good.
Look for a new Enzo to employ weight-saving techniques that will help improve fuel economy (I can't believe I just said that in a Ferrari article....). Power won't suffer; a smaller displacement engine with twin-turbocharging might be used though. These things will help it conform to recent European Union standards on consumption. Ferrari must have been working on this vehicle for a while; we might see it in as little as a year. You can check out the rear image of the new "Enzo II" here.
