GM has released pricing on the much-anticipated Buick LaCrosse near-luxury sedan. The LaCrosse was released in January at the North American International Auto Show. It can't get to market soon enough!

Amazing interior! The LaCrosse showed huge advances in General Motors development, offering a Buick a credible mid-range model that can do battle with the likes of Acura;s TSX, Lexus's ES and Lincoln's MKZ- and win. It was co-developed between American and Chinese design team and the continuation of a new era for Buick that began with the Enclave crossover.

It's a shame the negative publicity surrounding the GM might hurt this car as it goes to launch; it is loaded with technology and every bit competitive with the best.

Base pricing for the LaCrosse CX model starts out at $27,835, including a $750 destination charge. The next model n the trio, LaCrosse CXL is All-Wheel Drive only, and comes in at $32,570. The top-end model, LaCrosse CXS, starts at $33,765.

Compared with the LaCrosse's competitors, it is positioned very competitively. Lexus is at the top of the pricing range in the segment, asking $34,320 for the ES350. Lexus is followed by Lincoln and Acura, each asking $32,695 and $29,160 respectively.

These numbers might help the LaCrosse get some more looks in comparison shopping. The LaCrosse CX and CXL models get 3.0L Direct-Injection V6 making 255 horsepower. CXS bumps you up to a 3.6L Direct-Injection V6, offering 280 horsepower.

Looking good! This is a Buick I could drive.
