A new 5-Series is a pretty big deal, and BMW recently introduced the new model. As is usual though, the waiting game then begins for the latest and greatest model in the famed high performance M5 lineup.

A new 5-Series is a pretty big deal, and BMW recently introduced the new model. As is usual though, the waiting game then begins for the latest and greatest model in the famed high performance M5 lineup.

Some people want that kind of performance now , hence companies like Alpina with the B5 Bi-Turbo that are happy to oblige.

Production of the current M5 has officially ended, with the lifespan of the current model marking the most successful M5 in BMW's history.

That's right, even with the Bangle-styling and all. A total of 20,548 M5s were sold, 19,523 being sedans a paltry 1,025 as wagons. Of those M5s, the United States constituted the largest market with 8,800 sold.

The M5 was unique in the fact that it was powered by a 507 horsepower V-10 engine. Now we anxiously await the new car. With handsome styling, could the next-generation car top the current M5's record-breaking sales figures? Time will tell.

Mercedes-Benz just took the wraps off the 2011 CL-Class luxury coupe, a mid-cycle refresh that brought significant changes under the hood.

Now images of suped-up CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG have hit the internet. The CL63 gets 19-inch wheels, a reworked front airdam and new side and rear skirts.

It also loses all chrome from the front airdam. Unfortunately, out back it gets some unattractive tailpipes that, to our eyes, clash with the car's design. Of course, It wouldn't be an AMG without performance improvements, and Mercedes is happy to oblige.

The CL63 is rumored to have 544 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque – 26 more horsepower more than the current car. Interestingly, the "63" and "65" designations will no longer reference the engine size, as the new engine in the CL63 is said to be a 5.5-liter unit and in the CL65, a 6.0-liter.

Not surprisingly, we would have to choose the CL65 over the CL63 as far as styling goes. Firstly, it goes for nice oval pipes out back.

But it also has larger 20-inch wheels and some added chrome to the front air dam. That unique brown is seriously a cool color too. The best reason of all to pick the CL63 though? The 6.0-liter, twin-turbo V-12 making 630 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque.
