Audi has been highly successful at the 24 Hours of LeMans race, winning ten victories. The first race won by Audi was in 2000, with the winning vehicle being a R8 sports prototype. To celebrate its racing success, Audi is announcing the R8 Limited Edition. Just 100 units will be produced.

Interestingly enough, the car is powered by the same 4.2-liter V-8 as the standard car. Making 430 horsepower, it doesn't receive any tweaks. The biggest differentiation with this car comes on the exterior. The R8 Special Edition is finished with an exclusive special titanium-effect paint exclusive.

Also new is 19-inch titanium finish "5-arm double-spoke Y design" alloy wheels that inspired by the top-shelf R8 GT. Red brake calipers round off the package. Inside continues with a Black/Crimson Red theme. Standard features in the interior include a navigation system with Audi Music Interface (AMI), an interior lighting package, Bang and Olufsen sound system, and Bluetooth with integrated seat-belt microphones (pretty cool feature there).

Underneath, the car includes Audi's Magnetic Ride adaptive suspension as standard. There is no word on whether or not the car will be sold in the United States. The R8 includes an "R8 Driving Experience" package at the Silverstone Circuit that Audi says will let buyers fully acquaint themselves with the driving characteristics of the R8.

Prices start at £93,935 (about $150,991 USD at current exchange rates) in the United Kingdom, with deliveries starting in October.
