Fox 17 reports that police were dispatched after the 28-year-old had threatened his mother with a knife and sledgehammer, and attempted to set a house on fire. The chase ended at Shear’s home, where he was arrested while trying to run into the building. It’s thought that Shear - who formerly served in Iraq as a US Marine - suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and had alcohol issues as a consequence.
