You can leave the wheels pointed in any direction you want while the car is parked. It does no harm whatsoever. Turning the wheels while the car is standing still wears out your tires because "static friction" is greater than "rolling friction." So, in effect, you’re scraping less rubber off the tires while you’re rolling and steering than when you’re standing still and steering.
Ty alot , that explains it :)
It depends where you are in the world. Here in the UK we’re told to keep the wheels straight when parked on a residential road. The reason for this is so that other drivers don’t think that the car might be just about to pull out of the parking space and into the road if the wheels are pointing towards the road.
On motorways/highways, if stopped in an emergency, it’s advised that you stop your vehicle with the wheels pointing inwards (away from the traffic) so that if your car is hit from behind, it’s not pushed onto the road risking collisions with other cars.
Well where i live, its annoying. People park on both sides of the street so there is only the middle of the road left, if people leave it full lock one way (pointing to the road) like that one e46 driver, then it leaves even less space to pass which is dumb.
