Rota wheels. What is your opinion?

Many owners of Japanese cars turn to Rotas. Although most popularly, the Rota Grids, a cheap alternative look-alike to the infamous Rays TE37 wheels. Quality has varied over the years, but many still buy Rotas, mostly for their cost-effectiveness. What are your experiences with Rota branded wheels?

Considering the tyres are your only point of contact with the road, for safety reasons I’d rather not skimp on tires or wheels.

They’re cheaper for a reason!

Fair enough. I don’t see how people spend their money on hideous bodykits, and get cheap wheels that aren’t certified in any way. Although the Rotas are certified.

Sometimes quality isn’t equal tot he price. I guess there are good Rotas, which are cheap because they are produced in thousands and they did not have to pay for tests to make them legal like other manufactures. Nevertheless I still would rather buy from good factorys which have low budget offers. (Enkei got some good rims for a fair price)

Ironically, there are copies of Rotas (Rotas are considered copies of TE37’s), so there are copies of copies surfacing…
