Have you ever tested your speedometer against a GPS speedometer? How did it compare?

From 5 to 10 km/h of difference
Just tested the MR2, it appears to be 5% lower than whatever the speedometer actually reads, the old Micra was 10%.
Interesting!
100kmh on speedo is 90kmh on Gps, I don’t know who to believe going past speed cameras
GPS should be the accurate one, speedometers are usually slightly optimistic so if you’re somebody that does exactly the limit, you’ll never get caught speeding in some petty situation where you’re 1-2 kmh over.
265 KM/h reads 258 on gps so it’s pretty accurate
20 y/o Opel Astra gives me 8-10 km/h more than GPS.
I had the same, looks like it’s normal in those cars
i had about 3 km/h difference
It was perfectly the same in my VW Passat
Roughly 5-10 km/h difference tested on VW Up! and Audi A4 2004
all the vehicles and GPS devices i’ve tested - 4-6km/h less on GPS
If you ever plug in a OBD (On Board Diagnostics) chip like the ELM 327 it tells you your actual speed which from experience was about 2-3 slower than what the speedometer read

That’s two or three mph by the way!
