Lagonda Will Be Reborn In The Shape Of This Futuristic Electric SUV
Aston Martin-owned luxury brand Lagonda has confirmed an SUV as the first car it’s working on. The company just released a teaser showing, essentially, the Lagonda Vision concept with copious ride height.
Pencilled-in for a 2021 launch, it’s also going to be the first luxury SUV to be driven solely by batteries. Lagonda is set to specialise in electric mobility for the rich – although some slightly less expensive models might come along in due course.
Aston Martin’s President and CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, said:
“In reviving one of the most iconic names in motoring we have created a unique opportunity. One that allows us to cast aside an inherited 20th century approach and instead design cars around 21st century demands and desires.
“The Lagonda SUV is the first of its kind: a spacious, high-performance 4x4 that successfully reconciles a love of technology, luxury and style.”

I’m happy that this is happening and with a company like Aston Martin backing the project - it’s bound to be a really good brand of… Electric luxury cars? I guess the peace and quiet is useful for rich non car people :P
Either way, the concept looks a bit too out-of-the-box and will probably need to be reshaped to achieve any level of usability and practicality.

Will it be completely self driving, because otherwise I would imagine the blind spots on this thing are about a mile wide each

Was it ever though? I always thought that it was just meant to be a convenient electric SUV, not anything super luxurious.

the back is a little too overhanging, and maybe if they fix that, i can see this as the next royal car……

wait then why the hell do people pay $150k for a Tesla SUV, if its not even considered a Luxury car(or even SUV)
It’s a luxery car in the same vein as a Volvo. It’s nice, but not as nice as say a Mercedes or higher end BMW
