Top 10 "Women Can't Park" Videos On YouTube
Let's get the sexism slant out of the way first; the videos are named 'women parking' by the people that upload them, so it's not just us given a below-the-belt blow.
Let's get the sexism slant out of the way first; the videos are named 'women parking' by the people that upload them, so it's not just us given a below-the-belt blow. We've all been there - heck, even Adnan showcased some suspect parking with the Suzuki Swift - but here are ten examples of parking which would guarantee a failed driving test.
10. Saving Private New Car
A serious problem that would hack a lot of people off. Of course, when you've just bought a new car such as a Fiat 500 you wouldn't want a scratch after only a day of ownership. Still, that's no excuse to hog two spaces like that! Go park somewhere else if the spaces are 'too narrow'. If I ever see you park like that right in front of my eyes, I will personally hunt you down. You don't want to mess with an angry Scotsman!
9. Please, don't laugh
Mummy and Daddy have kindly let their 17 year old daughter borrow what looks like a fairly new Mazda 3. There's just one problem; the garage opening is a bit on the narrow side. After four minutes of near misses, hitting the shelves full of junk and striking the bin (10 points for that) the father had to step in and show her how it's done. Apparently, the uploader's other daughter scraped the side of the Mazda against the garage door frame and his wife even took the wing mirror off coming out of there! Keep it parked in the street instead? Take the SUV out first? Sort the garage out man!
8. "Turn around bright car"
Every now and then you fall apart behind the wheel. This girl certainly did. You kind of feel sorry for her afterwards because she tapped one car, had the guys filming her in stitches and then hit the accelerator instead of the brake causing her to beach on to the pavement. Cheers for the help, lads.
7. The Mexican Stand-off
What's worse than one bad driver trying to park? Try two... at the same time! This is the ultimate Mexican Stand-off battle between a Golf and a Mondeo. Not sure exactly why this face off went on for around 6 minutes but what I can tell you is the witness was quite displeased seeing a huge scuff on what looks like a GL Merc that isn't his. People that want to own a Benz will protect fellow three pointed stared cars, you see.
6. Run Forest, Run!
Example of bad distance perception number one; being too close. Another Polo driver stars in this video but I can't work out if the motorist knows they're scratching the car they are trying to park behind. They did the decent thing though, run away from the scene of the crime instead of leaving a note or waiting for the owner of the car they hit to come out. Not cool.
5. Not so smart
Example of bad distance perception number two; thinking you're closer than you actually are. The Smart ForTwo has to be one of the easiest cars to park thanks to the back of your seat being so close to the back end and your knees being so close to the front end. Not to mention the dinky dimensions. Despite this, this driver still found getting into that 'tight' space a challenge.
4. Oops, wrong pedal!
Just a little reminder for this driver. The pedal on the right is the accelerator, the one in the middle is the brake and the one on the left (unless you have an automatic) is the clutch. Muddle this up and you'll end up, well, looking like a berk.
3. Multistory Car Parks: Y U So Narrow?
Those city multistory car parks can be a bit of a squeeze. This driver steered too close to the wall causing her to scratch most of the left hand side of the car which made her panic and hit a parked vehicle. Somehow, while getting upset, she must have then forgotten to put the handbrake on causing the car to roll back down the hill and say bye bye to the front door.
2. Your parking is utter bollards!
Sergeant Bollard strikes again. Cue a wrestling match with a car to prevent it from escaping, resulting in plenty of damage to the underside of the car and most of the bodywork. Give that post a medal!
1. Scratches, smashes and attitude all-in-one
This video will leave most of you with your sides split and in shock at the same time. Also ladies, I've put a man badly parking at number one! See, not sexist. This chap must have had the worst day of his life. Late for a meeting, can't find a space, and angry, he decides to just barge his way into a space that's just too small. When questioned by a passer by about his poor attempt to park he simply walked away from the scene! 'What scratch? Got a meeting I'm late for anyway. See ya!' What a... you know what!
