This Tesla-Powered Honda Accord Is A Brilliant Blend Of Genius And Madness
The 'Teslonda' is a first-generation Accord powered by a Model S P85 powertrain
Engine swaps are just a little too mainstream, aren’t they? At least that’s what this guy seems to think - he’s given his 1981 Honda Accord a stupid amount of power not by dropping a huge engine in, but by installing the drive unit from a Tesla Model S P85 at the rear.
It’s hooked up to the 16kW battery from a Chevrolet Volt, which the mad builder wants to “max out at 1000 amps for a few seconds.”
Naturally, such a giant motor in an old, light Honda - even offset by heavy batteries and a drive unit that weighs 240kg on its own - results in a seriously fast car. Already, the 0-60mph time has been measured at 2.7 seconds, and it’s set to go faster still.
The project has its own Instagram account, which we strongly advise you follow.

The Tesla batteries and motors are extremely unreliable though
And when are we finally going to see LS1 Teslas for god’s sake? I bet someone is already working on such a project… After all, there are 7.6 billion people on Earth… Who knows…

I don’t know if that’s possible, no room for a transmission or fuel system.
