Nissan CrossCabriolet, Ellure Concept and Infiniti M35 Coming to L.A

While it is perhaps been overlooked, Nissan has been doing extremely well for itself in the United States market. The brand has posted growth for 10 straight months. Quite impressive.

While it is perhaps been overlooked, Nissan has been doing extremely well for itself in the United States market. The brand has posted growth for 10 straight months. Quite impressive.

To capitalize on that, the brand is launching a new "Innovation for All" marketing campaign. That claim has been bolstered by vehicles like the LEAF. In addition, lots of new products are on the way, headed for the Los Angeles International Auto Show.

It includes the much-speculated about Nissan Murano Convertible, dubbed CrossCabriolet. Pretty crazy that a manufacturer has the guts to introduce a product like this.

We applaud bold moves like that! Introduction of the CrossCabriolet has been confirmed by Nissan, with a press release stating:

"

Murano CrossCabriolet, the world's first all-wheel drive crossover convertible (how's that for Innovation? - CT) delivers the open-air exhilaration of a convertible while extending the versatility of the Murano in exciting new ways. With room for four adults, space for golf bags or luggage (even with the top down), and a premium level interior, the Murano CrossCabriolet represents a breakthrough in concept and design."

Next is a sedan concept dubbed Ellure. Little is known about the car, with Nissan cryptically saying "it is designed to bring a higher level of progressive and distinctive expression to the segment – adding passion and emotion to traditional sedan efficiency."

We'll take a stab and guess that it is a four-door "coupe" with a hybrid drivetrain. Other production models include the next-generation Nissan Quest minivan and 2012 Infiniti M35 hybrid.

The Infiniti will debut Nissan's first in-house developed hybrid system. The engine is a Atkinson-cycle 3.5-liter VQ V6 and the battery pack shares similar technology with the all-electric LEAF. Nissan says the M35 will have V-8 performance with similar fuel consumption to a four cylinder. Sounds like a good deal to us.
