As with nearly everything from Lotus, the upcoming Evora sports car promises to be an amazing vehicle. The brand has released some information on the car that includes package and content details. Let's take a look!

The list is exhaustive; way too much to cover here in one post. But I will focus on some of the details that we missed in a press release last week from the company that provided a lot of new stuff on the Evora.

The very first production Lotus Evoras are already rolling off the assembly line at Lotus' high-tech assembly facilities in Worcester and at the Lotus Headquarters in Hethel. According to the company, build volume is ramping up over a period with a target of 34 Evoras per week by July.

That makes for around 2040 cars a year, if the economy allows of course. The Evora enters the market as the only mid-engined 2+2 in production and shows a more sophisticated, grown-up side of the company that should help attract more customers to the brand.

To my eyes, it's a step above the more kit-like Elise. It offers an very balanced, clean design that is almost Ferrari-like.  So I'd much rather have this than an Elise, but that is most likely due to the fact that my tastes tilt more to the luxury end of the spectrum.

The Evora is available in 3 main option packages Tech, Premium and Sport packages, all powered by a Toyota 3.5L 265HP V6 engine.

The car's launch, comes after an extensive "Eagle" development program that was completed in 27 months, an pretty amazing speed for completion of a production vehicle.

It's very good to see Lotus moving up and working to attract more customers. This car should certainly help them do that.
