Lamborghini Insecta Design Study
I always love to see renderings and design interpretations of vehicles by those with design acumen, as they offer a look at where the brand has the potential to go. Maybe an interpretation of the brand for coachbuild customers?

Meet the Lamborghini Insecta, a design study for a 2-seater mid-engine sports car by Romanian designer Iulian Bumbu. As it's name implies, the design tries to blend Lamborghini styling cues with certain elements inspired by insect's exoskeletons.
It's very different to be sure, not the usual of what you see from Lamborghini "design studies". The Insecta's designer explains: "The idea was to create an extreme race-oriented supercar with a style that introduces softer and more organic lines and integrate them into the geometrical style of Lamborghini."
The aim was to still retain the unique Lamborghini look though, and in my opinion this side shot below is the view that is closest to being traditional Lamborghini.
See what I mean? The designer Iulian Bumbu is obviously very talented, with an 3 month internship at Alfa Romeo as part of his experience.
Designers like Bumbu often release these studies to show off their talent and make themselves known in the design community.
So while it's definitely not my favorite design, the designer succeeded in his mission and certainly should get recognition for it.
I'd like to see him (or someone else) do a futuristic look at a new Lamborghini, but without the insect elements. Something about that, along with the name just doesn't do anything for me....
