Idiot Mustang Driver Trashes His Brother's Cayman In The Most Bizarrely Pointless Accident You'll Ever See

What happens when you combine a brotherly cruise with a side order of "watch this!"? Possibly the stupidest, most infuriating accident you're ever likely to see

Buyers of the new Mustang aren’t doing the brand image many favours, with crashes already having found their way online, but this one has to go down as the dumbest.

Reddit user BowlerNona was out for a drive in his Cayman S, being followed by his younger brother in a new Mustang. In the video the Cayman is respectfully tailing another car in a 30mph area, down at just over 20mph, when the Mustang driver decides to attempt a full-throttle overtake. Why? We’ve no idea.

The sudden burst of power breaks traction, the rear end steps out and the driver over-corrects – straight into the side of his brother’s Cayman. Words (almost) fail us.

BowlerNona reports that his brother, who sounds like a bit of a tool, is placing the blame on his car’s tyres rather than his shoddy driving, but relations between the two are apparently civil.

Just check out the damage in the third video above. The brother’s insurance is taking care of the mess made to both cars, but BowlerNona does at least say in this thread that he won’t be cruising with the idiot any more. We think the brother is getting off lightly, but there’s a deserving pat on the back for BowlerNona for being so reasonable.

If that was my brother, I’d stick him at the front of the crowd, start his Mustang and let it do the rest. But how is the Cayman “totalled”?!? The damage doesn’t seem that bad, especially when you remember that it’s mid-engined.

Did you notice the angle the rear wheel was sitting at?

Totaled, in insurance company terms, typically means $XXXX amount of damage has been done to the vehicle. In some cases cars may be written off because air bags were deployed. Structurally the car may be sound and it could be repair for a not insane amount of money but because the air bags, a key part of the vehicles safety system, were deployed it’s seen as garbage in the insurance companies eyes.

He should thank the Mustang driver for retrofitting rear wheel steering to his Cayman S
