The First Ford GT Reviews Have Landed

They've been a long time coming but the first video reviews of the Ford GT have arrived, with journalists split over whether it's good, but just not good enough for the money, or the best thing since someone first put ice cream with jelly

It seems like a very long time since the new Ford GT was announced, but the global automotive media have finally got their grubby mitts on it.

There are plenty of videos out there, but we’ve picked out this beautifully-shot one from Carfection for your enjoyment. Grab a drink, sit back and enjoy the £400,000 GT’s cacophony of noise. We’re not familiar with the American presenter but he seems rather taken with it, even if we don’t actually see him drive the car to its limit.

He calls it ‘more involving’ than a Ferrari 488, which is a surprise – and disagrees with what some other journalists are saying; that it feels like a racer but doesn’t reward like the European best. It’s well worth a watch, anyway.

It is cool but it does not sound as good as the v8 that was in it before

So basically, more racy, less practical version of all the others with McLaren- rivalling suspension and damping but not really suited to the road, and the drivetrain’s not as ‘Supercar’ as some. It’s a bit like what a Lotus Elise is to a Toyota GT86.

The new GT is a marvelous piece of engineering. Nothing is overpriced if someone is willing to pay it, that’s simple economics. The current automotive performance war is a wonderful thing. Enjoy it while it lasts. History always repeats itself. Go back and study the awful period between 1974 and 1990, which came after the magnificent years 1960-1973.

He did not anticipate that rapid drop when he switched it to track mode.
It may be gimmicky but i love it.
Much like that folding instrument cluster in the 720s

I wouldn’t call it a gimmick, lowering the whole car will lower its center of gravity & work the floor and diffuser harder increasing performance.
