Ferrari has been a busy company lately, introducing the new 458 Italia and California not too far apart from each other. With a new model addition and significant updates on a core model, what's next for Ferrari?

CAR Magazine recently conducted an interview with Ferrari managing director Amedeo Felisa, who provided some information on what to expect in the future.

For me anyway, the least impressive (remember - we are still talking about Ferraris here though) car that Ferrari makes would have to be the 612 Scaglietti. Stylistically it is not as dramatic as it could have been, being one of the first cars to debut the latest evolution of Ferrari's styling language. The good news is that a replacement is on the way, scheduled for 2012. If Ferrari gets the next car right, it could do very well - a Ferrari four seater GT has the potential for wide appeal.

Other models touched on are the 599 GTB Fiorano - and a successor to the Enzo. Ferrari wouldn't be complete without a range topping supercar, would it? The Enzo has run it's course, but a new supercar is being developed now to stun us once again. I wouldn't call it a replacement though - you never "replace" a car like the Enzo.

Seeing what Ferrari does with the replacement for the 612 Scaglietti will be interesting. What I would love for Ferrari to do is develop one car in the lineup that pays homage to classic Ferraris. Sleek and unmistakably Italian - not blatantly retro but with "inspired" styling. That's definitely not the direction Ferrari is going in right now though.
