Exploding Batteries Caused The Honda NSX Nurburgring Fire
Sources have revealed that the fire which gutted Honda's NSX prototype was started by two malfunctioning batteries
The cause of the catastrophic fire that destroyed Honda’s NSX prototype at the Nurburgring has now been revealed. According to World Car Fans’ sources, the fire started at the rear of the mid-engined hybrid car when two batteries exploded. The blaze soon spread to the rest of the car, forcing the test driver to flee the vehicle - fortunately without sustaining any injuries.
The new NSX is due to go into production next year, and features a mid-mounted V6 and electric motor powering the rear axle, plus an extra pair of motors powering each of the front wheels.
