Audi's on the move, setting new goals and breaking sales records around the globe. For 2010 the brand shattered its previous sales goal set in 2007, for a tally that broke the 100,000 barrier for the first time.

The increase in sales has been led by new models like the redesigned A4 and all-new Q5 crossover.

A few years ago Audi showed off a concept at the Shanghai Motor Show that previewed a smaller new crossover model to slot in below the Q5. Dubbed Q3, the new small crossover would be based on the Volkswagen Tiguan.

Since then we haven't heard anything about the new model, but Carscoop reports it will be hitting European showrooms this fall. We've yet to hear any noises about a venue for official debut of the production model, but the Geneva Motor Show in March seems like a good possibility.

The Q3 will reportedly be launching with a choice of three engines: a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder making 167 horsepower and mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, a 208 hp 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder and a 167 hp 2.0-liter TDI diesel four, both offered with an S tronic automatic transmission..

What isn't clear is when the Q3 will be making its way to the United States. Stay tuned for more details, they should be surfacing soon.
