The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Is Being Given The Zagato Treatment

The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera certainly can’t be accused of being a shrinking violet in the styling department. Regardless, famed Italian coachbuilder Zagato is going to see if it can up the drama further.

The result is called the DBS GT Zagato, and it forms “the second half of the remarkable DBZ Centenary Collection,” Aston Martin says, the first half being the DB4 GT Zagato continuation. Although Gaydon hasn’t revealed the car in full yet, these official renderings serve as a good preview.

From the ‘double bubble’ roof to the huge, angry mouth (and you thought the standard DBS had a big gob), all the Zagato hallmarks are here. The wheel design is unique to the car, too.

There’s no word on what’s going on under the skin, but we suspect the Superleggera’s oily bits will remain unchanged. With 715bhp available from a twin-turbo 5.2-litre V12, it didn’t really need any tweaks in this area anyway.

Zagato’d Astons are always exclusive affairs, but this one is especially so. Only 19 will be built, and they’re only available with the aforementioned DB4 GT Continuation as the DBZ Centenary Collection. Which costs £6 million, plus local taxes.

Owners will receive their DB4s first, arriving in the fourth quarter of 2019. The DBS GTs will land around a year later.
