I would personally find it very offensive if someone did it.

I’d let someone touch my car if I had one nice enough to touch :) The only people I wouldn’t let touch my car are hooded youths.

I always see this at car shows, people who go up to and run their fingers along the car (especially women with a shitload of rings, bracelets etc. for some reason) or people who lean against/sit on the car to take a picture. (often performed by parents who pick their kid up and let them sit on the car, or teenagers who lean against them because they believe they look cool doing it)

I go by one rule, especially at car shows (I do it when I’m just with my friends too) no matter how big or small the meet is nor how good or bad the condition the car is in.

5 words and one simple instruction.

Look, but do not touch! (unless you’re given permission personally by the owner)

I suppose it would depend on how they “touch” it. If they just put their hand gently on it, I at least would be mostly OK with that. However, if they’re jumping on the roof and scrathing the paint with their keys, I wouldn’t be as OK with that.

I had to add a sticker that said look but don’t touch.

I don’t flip sht if someone touches my car. I’ve even had a little kid run into my last Fiesta during a show because he liked the color and shape. He just full sprint jumped into my back seats. I was like…wut. It was kinda funny and everyone really appreciated that I wasn’t some kinda massive dck about it. I just let the kid sit down and then the parents rushed over to get him.

Now at big boy car shows I make certain that everything I have is away from the car and I will politely look at it and I might stick my head into the window if they have them down, but I make sure that I touch nothing.

People have been very appreciative of how I treat their cars while at the same time not being a massive C*ck if someones kid accidentally touches mine or sits in it.

Truth be told my greatest fear is that I scratch someone else’s car…oh the embarrassment.

If people appreciate my ride and they ask me if they can touch it or even sit on it I usually let them do it. The only exceptions are big finger nails, bracelets or hanging key chains from their pockets. My car has so many scratches on the paint I can’t stand more.
