Alright, so, 7.3 liter turbo diesel engines. Would it be possible to have anti-lag on one of these? Like on a Rallycross car? Good idea or....

Did you serioulsy just ask if anti lag is a good idea? Yes, yes it is (and anyone who mentions anything dumb like ‘drivability’ and other bizaar concepts can p*** off)

Yes, you certainly sound like an expert on the subject.

But too answer your question no they dont go to a high enough RPM too have anti-lag thats why all big truckers take a while too spool up

Cos it won’t work. Antilag works by delaying the spark until the exhaust stroke, so the burning mixture is expanding as it is being pushed through the turbine and creating boost. In a diesel there is no spark to delay, if there’s fuel in the cylinder it will burn.

It doesn’t matter as much though because diesels don’t have a throttle plate, so you take your foot off the accelerator and the air keeps going through the engine and turbo and you don’t lose all your boost through a blow off valve.
