Ummmmm wait wat? I might be wrong here, but weren’t z3s only 1.9, 2.0, 2.2, 2.8 and 3.0 (excluding the 3.2 M versions)? There might have been some before the facelift, but since you say it’s a 2001 (after facelift, indented rear lights) …

2.5i was a US spec I6 engine. I’m in Washington state.

It’s got the LSD and optional leather as well.
I do understand the confusion though, because it’s not a common model. Try finding any sort of aftermarket parts for it and all that turns up are 1.9, 2.2, and 2.8 :(
