My Toyota Altezza RS200

So, i made a purchase.
A 1999 Altezza RS, with 153000 km, Imported to Finland from Japan a few months ago. RHD, RWD, Torsen Diff, 3S-GE Beams engine, 6-speed manual. White colour with leather interior (not real though).
A Mini disk player :)

I’ve always had a soft spot for the body of the Altezza / IS200 / IS300, but when i saw this i knew i wanted it so bad. I spent the weekend thinking about it, and it didn’t do anything since at monday morning i was outside the dealers door first thing in the morning and test drove the car.
And all i can say is amazing all around. The shifter feels better than sitting on the Throne after a long day, and the sound is better than a female companion in the bedroom.

Now i didn’t really push the car since this is my first RWD, LSD car with RWD and i was only test driving it. i did do a harder acceleration to the highway, and i have to say the feeling is different from my 2003 TDi Golf. The revs just feel to keep climbing, all the way to near 8k (7,500rpm) compared to 5200rpm on my diesel gas chamber.

The only problem with the car is the left side mirrors electric adjusting motor is busted, so i need to fix that at some point in the near future.
The modifictions made to this car is the intake filter, as well as an exhaust.
When i bought it i got a dealer package, with BC Racing V1-coilovers installed and registered, as well as Japan Racing rims. I choose the Japan Racing JR3 17’ (kinda looks loke TE37s) as matt black. and new summer tires. So i can lower the car a little for the summer, and still have tire side wall due not going 18s.

I should be getting the keys soon, before next weeks friday (22.3.2019), but maybe even this week :)

This is, as i stated, my first RWD car i’ve owned, and my third car in total (one wasn’t even in my name yet before braking a timing belt tensioner breaking pistons and valves, and my Golf, which was my first car, was broken at that time.
For winter i don’t have studs for the first time, just regular winter tires. With the Torsen diff this should be a fun combination in the Finnish winters. This will be my only car, as such myu Daily, so i’ll keep it pretty much stock, minus the suspension.

The plans for the car is just to replace all the fluids, basic maintenance (as a aircraft mech i have a Maintenance Schedule planned for it) as well as fixing all the broken parts. Maybe wrap at some point, maybe Blue. Also i need to change the head unit of the speakers, since it only has a minidisk as well as a CD player. I do have a FM Transmitter that i’ll use in the beginning.

Thanks for reading, and i hope you all have great luck with cars and many Kilometers

I’ve very seriously considering a 3SGE Beams swap in my project. That sweet sweet ITB sound.
