Ducati's New V4 Superbike Sounds Incredible

With the reveal of Ducati's new V4-powered superbike just days away, why not get a little preview with this testing footage?

A couple of months ago, Ducati dropped a massive bombshell by declaring the impending end of its V-twin sports bikes. It breaks a tradition that goes back decades, but have a quick watch of the video above, and we reckon you might just be OK with what the Bologna bike firm has in mind for the first installment in its new era of superbikes.

Yes, this testing footage may be potato-spec, but the sound is the important thing here. And Ducati’s new MotoGP-inspired V4 belts out a rather brilliant din, don’t you think?

It serves as a nice little taster ahead of the engine’s full reveal, which Ducati has announced will be happening at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on 7 September. We can’t wait to see what’s been cooked up…

Miata Antonio

Hey Ducati, if you happen to have any of those engines just laying around, I NEED one for my Miata. Thanks.

Seriously though, think of how sick that would be! 👌

“If we can’t continue making an engine, just double the number of cylinders!”

If only BMW followed that logic. The current M5 would have a V20, and the M3 a V16…
