Drag racer Ron Clark suffered a huge smash aboard his massively modified 'Bugzilla' VW Beetle at the recent 'Lights Out At 8' event, but luckily walked away from the wreck
The well-known ‘Bugzilla’ VW Beetle was seen bursting into flames at Sough Georgia Motorsports Park this week, after a massive crash during the first qualifying round for ‘Lights Out At 8’.
Just after crossing the finish line of the eighth-mile strip, driver Ron Clark lost the back end of the front-engined, V8-powered Beetle, slammed into the wall and barrel rolled over the concrete barrier. Fortunately, he walked away from the wreck, and according to Bang Shift was taken to hospital “for evaluation purpose only”.
Growing up on a diet of World Rally Championship highlights and lengthy Gran Turismo 2 sessions, a life in cars was as good as inevitable for Matt.
