Why Toyota Soarer With Skyline Front-End And Monaro Rear? Because Ricecar

We're still in recovery after seeing this thing. So to make us feel better, we think you guys should see it too...

Picture 41

This is a Toyota Soarer. Except that it's not really a Toyota Soarer anymore. You see, it's got a couple of mods to it and is described by its owner - who has put this thing on eBay in Oz - as a 'Toyota Soarer with GTR34 front n Holden Monaro back with killer look'...

The modifications list is something to behold. Underneath the bonnet lies a twin-turbocharged 1JZ GTE 2.5-litre engine, which produces 280bhp and 280lb ft torque. That comes as standard.

What doesn't come as standard, however, is this car's Nissan Skyline front-end and Holden Monaro rear-end, which, according to the current owner 'cost thousands of $$$'.

The paint job alone - a fetching orange colour with golden flakes - set the owner back a reported AU $12,000 (£7000)!

While the conversion outside is fairly convincing (we'll ignore the small wheels and stupid wing), it's the inside that screams of that edible carbohydrate you'd enjoy with a chicken chow mein.

Picture 40

All looks well, when suddenly...

Picture 42

Yup, inside you'll find snakeskin leather seats, red neon lights under the dashboard and under the seats and, as the pièce de résistance, four roof-mounted lights.

Picture 39

Thirty-three people have placed bids on this true head-turner, but prices are some way off this guy's AU $13,500 (£7745) buy it now price.

While we can't say we're tempted, at least this is a true example of built, not bought.

Thanks (we think) to Travis for the link!
