Sunday eBay Wouldya: Honda S2000

Honda is a truly bipolar car company, responsible for both some of the world’s most exciting cars and some of the most boring. This week’s Sunday eBay Wouldya, a Honda S2000 GT, was definitely one of the more exciting though, with a highly strung 2.0-litre engine which revs up to an insane 9,000rpm. Plus it comes with a drop top so you can squeeze the most out of the British summertime.

Despite its compact size and tally of just four cylinders, this lusty engine sends a healthy 240bhp to the rear wheels. More than enough for a car which weighs comfortably less than 1,300kg. Together the banzai motor and relatively lightweight chassis means the S2000 canters to 60mph in six seconds and on to 150mph.

The S2000 is also a bit of a looker thanks to its sleek but understated lines. And our eBay find is even more appealing thanks to its lustrous blank paintwork and vivid red leather interior. Our S2000 even comes with a factory fitted hard top – so when the three days of British summer are over you can stick the hard top on and feel like you’re driving a kosher coupe. All for seven quid short of £10k.

This 2005 model may have 73,000 miles on the clock but with Honda reliability on its side, this shouldn’t be a worry. We’re pretty tempted, but what about you, wouldya?
