Is The Range Rover Evoque Cabriolet An Immense Rip-Off?
Doug DeMuro goes through all the things that are wrong with the surprisingly expensive Evoque Cabriolet. It takes some time...
The Evoque convertible may have a handful of good features, but is it worth the best part of $70,000? Bearing in mind the giant panel gaps, the awful hood-up visibility, the pointless rear seats and the fact this 11,000 mile example already has a leaking roof and windows that sound “like a baby otter trying to give a distress call to its mother” when they’re being rolled up, probably not.
As Doug DeMuro suggests in this in-depth analysis and quirk-finding session, why wouldn’t you just buy a Porsche Boxster?

If it’s pointless, why LR made this s*?
Remember, just because you can do something, it doesn’t mean you should.
You are all missing the point here. There is no practical reason to buy such a car. You don’t buy an Evoque because you need it, you buy it because it’s expensive and you want to show the peasants around you how much money you have.
Nissan: Let’s annoy the f* out of all the car guys by making a convertible of our SUV. No one could possibly make anything worse.
Land Rover: Hold our beers.
I can’t stand this guy… STOP COMPLAINING
Oh really. Bmw i8, lamborghini veneno and centenario arr the biggest ripoffs.
Well at least it looks cool …
So then, a pair of M5s (E39, E60 or one of each - take your pick!) with money to spare, or this abomination?
If I see someone in this, I will immediately loose all respect for them. Other than showing off, there is absolutely no logical reason as to why one should buy this absolutely disgraceful obscenity
Funny how Doug says every 2 door SUV failed then shows 4 generations of Chevy Blazers.
