Photos of the 2011 VW Phaeton Released

The Volkswagen Phaeton was introduced at the Beijing Auto Show in April. Along with it, VW released the usual standard-issue studio press release photography - that is to say, not very good. Now, they have done a full drop of a photoshoot for the car in Beijing.

There was some speculation that the 2011 VW Phaeton would be making a return to the United States market, based on comments by W North America’s CEO Stefan Jacoby.  He made a comment to the The Detroit News, saying “our strategy (is)….to have a lineup ending with the Phaeton. We will bring the Phaeton back to the market.”

However, we reached out to Steve Keyes, the Director for Press and Public Relations at VW, who said there are “no plans” to offer the updated 2011 Phaeton in the U.S market. However, an all-new model for release sometime around 2015 is "under consideration."
