'Pavement Babes' Result in 29% of Male Near Misses

Breaking news from the good folk at the AA in neighbouring Ireland. As part of a motor insurance survey of 15,500 Irish motorists, the Automobile Association discovered that the biggest distraction resulting in 29% of male drivers having a near miss are hot girls pounding the pavement. Like the good-looking lass below:
That's right, we've all been there lads. It's the warmest and sunniest day of the year. The sexiest girl from Uni decides to take a walk down the beach with her mates in a bikini. You're acting like you're cruising in a Mustang when you're actually tottering in a Daewoo Matiz. She turns, looks at you and then shouts in slow motion, 'Watch out for that lamp post!'
Weirdly, only 2.3% of the 6,144 female motorists surveyed say attractive men walking or cycling down the road were the biggest distraction nearly resulting in a crash. Either Irish men are disgusting or there's been some dishonesty going down in the land of potatoes.
The majority of women surveyed say the biggest distraction for them outside the car which has nearly caused an accident were billboards advertising great deals or the latest movie at the flicks. This was the second most distracting thing for male drivers.
Other distractions that have caught both sexes out include checking out an accident (aka 'rubber-necking'), checking out who got stopped by the cops, eye-catching cars in the wild (Team CT's biggest distraction for sure, on par with Mila Kunis of course) and sightseeing landmarks. Basically, the conclusion drawn from the study is that the roads would be safer if all of us were ugly, businesses didn't make money from advertising and if cities had nothing to look at.
Let us know what you think of the unbelievably unpredictable results of the AA Ireland insurance survey below or on Facebook or Twitter. If you have had an unusual distraction which nearly wrote off your pride and joy then share it with us!
