John Cena Is Fighting Back Against Ford's 'No Resale' Lawsuit

Wrestling star John Cena has at last responded to Ford's legal action after he sold his Ford GT just two weeks after receiving it, and he says he's done nothing wrong

WWE superstar John Cena is fighting back against a lawsuit slapped on him by Ford, after he flipped his GT for a huge profit just two weeks after taking delivery.

As we reported a couple of months ago, Ford claims to have told buyers of the ultra-desirable new GT that they weren’t allowed to sell them for at least two years. When Cena sold his, Ford issued a legal smackdown. But the wrestler is fighting back.

According to a report in celebrity web-magazine TMZ, Cena says he’s done nothing wrong. In new court papers that have come to light, his lawyers counter-claim that Ford didn’t put the ‘no sell-on’ clause into the final contract and that they’ve got no right to sue for damages. The documents ask the court to throw the case out completely.

Ford is said to be squeezing Cena for every cent that he made in profit by flipping the car to a new buyer, but the all-American ring king says they can forget it. This may rumble on for some time…

Why the hell would he waste his money and time ordering one of these if it looks like he didn’t want it in the first place? He took an order slot that a proper enthusiast could have had but can’t because he has done something a bit selfish that comes off as a publicity stunt. Now he’s spending time and money on lawyers to fight over something really petty (that HE did, not Ford).

It’s hardly a waste of money when he sold it for a huge profit.

You buy a car, it’s your car. Ford shouldn’t have a damn thing to say about wheither or not you sell it!

Actually, that is precisely the point of a contract. You are a free man, and as such you are free to do anything you want (under the constricts of law), including limiting your own freedom. That in turn includes agreeing not to resell something you buy and is a perfectly normal contract that is actually used quite often in business . You don’t like it ? Simple, don’t sign the contract.

Why is Ford forcing people not to sell their Ford GT for 2 years it is supposed to be the customers wish they are forcing the customers not to sell their GT they don’t have any rights to command them this is why is Ford doing this? Is it because the people will make a lot of money by selling it?
My opinion is that Cena has not done anything wrong as it is his wish.

Cena signed a contract. That’s all you need to know about the situation.
