Hennessey Performance Engineering, world-renowned at adding more power to already muscular cars, now turns their sights to the new Cadillac CTS-V. They've released a line of tuning packages for Cadillac's hotter-than-hot Nurburgring smashing sedan ranging from 600 up to 800 horsepower. Details on these monster Caddies after the jump.
The base CTS-V isn't really anything to cough at in the first place. Powered by a derivative of the almighty Corvette ZR-1's LS9, called the LSA, this pushrod 6.2L supercharged V8 makes a more-than-adequate 556bhp, along with 549 lb-ft of torque. This translates to around 510 horsepower at the wheels, and 0-60 runs under 4 seconds with manual or automatic transmission.
The basic HPE upgrade, called V600, consists of a remapped ECU as well as some mechanical alterations. A 14psi pulley and new snout for the blower make more boost faster, as well as K&N filter, boost power to 610bhp and 605 lb-ft of torque. Hennessey says the V600 is good for 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, with the quarter mile dispatched in 11.8 seconds at 122 mph. So, basic bolt-ons make for a good start.
The next step up is the V650, which in addition to the V600 upgrades also introduces a 4" induction kit, 1 7/8" long-tube headers, 3" midpipes and X-pipes, high-flow catalysts, and an upgraded intercooler heat exchanger. HPE claims 650bhp and 641 lb-ft of torque for this level of tune, which seems sufficient...

...But of course you and I know it's not. If you're upgrading your CTS-V from the HPE parts bin, go for the V700. On top of the 650 package, this also throws in a Hennessey-spec hot camshaft as well as ported, high-flow cylinder heads for an alarming total of 700 horsepower and 701 lb-ft of torque. Performance claims are equally nuts: 3.1 seconds to sixty with the optional 20" HRE alloy wheels (pictured) and drag radials, a 10.9 second quarter mile at 129mph, and a top speed of... 211mph.
And if too much isn't quite enough, Hennessey is working on a V800 Twin Turbo Kit for the CTS-V. This makes a claimed 800bhp and 780 lb-ft of torque. Parts include twin ball-bearing turbochargers in place of the standard Eaton supercharger, twin external wastegates and blowoff valves with all necessary plumbing, fueling upgrades including bigger injectors and rails, a remapped ECU, a full Corsa exhaust with 3" mid and X-pipes, upgraded cylinder heads and the HPE camshaft.

So if you really wanted a ZR-1 but needed four doors, at least now you know you can level the playing field a little with some Hennessey parts. Because what the CTS-V really needed was more power, right?
