The guys from Motor Trend's Engine Masters series put both cheap and expensive mufflers to the test, to see where the biggest bang for buck lies

If you’re planning on upping the power of your car, it’s likely that some exhaust parts are going to be on the menu. But what size should you go for if it’s for a relatively low power, mostly stock engine, and how much should you spend?

It depends what car you drive. A high performance car like a Audi TTS then yes it probably will. If you have a (un)limited edition 1.2 Corsa then IT WON’T !!!!!!

Size will affect pressure and in the end it depends on what you want some exhausts will give you more pressure at low RPM and some at high RPM

Sometimes an exhaust that is too big will actually slow down exhaust gas velocity (speed) on an NA car prove less effective. Additionally it has been proven that some silencers and mufflers can aid flow rather than just hinder. The design and bends etc will also prove a huge factor.
