As far as race debuts go, the current Audi R8 LMS had a jolly good one last year. Its first race was the fearsome Nurburgring 24 Hours, and Audi went and won the damn thing by 40 seconds.

One year on, Audi is wanting to celebrate, and has done so by releasing this special version of the road-going R8 V10 Plus. It’s called the Selection 24H, and only 24 will be made (see what they did there?).

Over the boggo V10 Plus, the 24H comes with a sports exhaust, Audi magnetic ride adaptive damping and laser headlights as standard, plus a whole host of exterior styling tweaks. These include a gloss-finish for the carbonfibre engine compartment cover, rear wing, diffuser and sideblades - with the latter also featuring an ‘R8 24h’ logo.

The body is finished in Suzuka grey with Mythos black detailing, plus a few fancy red accents here and there in a nod to Audi racing liveries of old. Oh, and the 10-spoke wheels are gloss anthracite black. Tasty.

Mechanically, the 24H is identical to the standard V10 Plus, so we’re looking at the same 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 mounted midship. Still, since that means 602bhp and a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds, the car should have sufficient levels of face-killing acceleration to satisfy most.

Audi UK wasn’t able to tell us how much these cars will cost just yet, but if you fancy clocking one in the metal, the 24H will be on display at the Nurburgring 24 Hours race later this month.

With those images, I guess the choice for who you want to win at Le Mans is… crystal clear!
I also believe that they knocked this special edition Audi the park!

Why do all modern car companies think red accents on a white car make it faster?

They just want to make it look more agressive, but youre right, alot of companies do this and buyers tend to fall for this.

Ya sure. Add red accents, add some words and numbers to the name, and we have a special edition car. “Added sex appeal”, ya right.

It costs about 229,000 Euros in Germany and you forgot to mention another feature; Dynamic steering.

Personally I’d prefer if the front end was more like this (just a quick sketch, will make a proper one soon if I get a chance…), as I am not really a particularly huge fan of the Super simplified new front end! :)
