2 Painful Crash Videos Prove That The 800bhp Nissan Juke-R Is Cursed
A while back we featured this Nissan Juke, a homemade Juke-R, which thanks to uprated turbos and an 800bhp output on race fuel, can keep up with a Bugatti Veyron in a one-mile drag race.
Then last week, a grainy video of a wide-track white Juke surfaced online. It showed a potential buyer for the Shpilli Villi Engineering Juke testing its launch control on an industrial estate. All that power doesn't mix well with 200 yards of space...
According to reports from The Supercar Kids, the driver was so overwhelmed by the Juke's twin-turbo V6 power and all-wheel-drive assisted acceleration (it's a GT-R powertrain, what were they expecting?) that they panicked, hit the brake and throttle simultaneously, and stuffed it. The passenger, who foolishly chose not to wear a seatbelt, suffered head injuries in the impact but has now been released from hospital.
Yet just a few days later, the budget Juke-R has suffered a bigger smash. With much more air. The driver blames cold tyres, a cold track, rear brake failure and his own ego for the crash, which sees the Juke fail to make a turn and head perilously towards a grass mound.
The GT-R is already an insane piece of kit, and chopping its internals into a taller, short-wheelbase chassis verges on lunacy. Even as an official Nissan project. Making your own - with more power - is ridiculous. And this video surely proves it.
So, if you're offered a slightly battered-looking Nissan Juke with 800bhp for a knock-down price, you should probably run away. This creation is cursed.
