would you consider buying a riced car and unricing it if it's mechanically fine and would be cheaper than buying a standard one?

mmmm, would be nice to remove a rice car off the road but on the other hand, are ricers known for looking after their cars….judging by what they are willing to do to their poor cars, I’m going to take a stab at no.

While it wasnt Riced, a friend of mine was selling a 2004 STi with a ruined transmission, destroyed interior and a number of mechanical issues under the hood and I wanted to buy it and just fix it up because he was practically giving it away and after I finished fixing it the car would have been worth way more than the cost of the repairs. Not to mention it was a gorgeous STi. However I was buying a house at the time and could not justify having another performance/project car. He traded it for what might as well have been pennies and got a chevy avalanche. sigh.
