Because people would be more willing to break into your car if they knew what they were looking at or if it just looks expensive.
But I mean more of like a “replaceble” hood, like one you would put on when you go to a car meet.
One of the Corvets had a small transparent window in its hood so you could see the engine.
The c6 zr1 Hamas a transparent part over the supercharger, not the core engine.
Some cars have a see trough engine cover but to make the whole hood see through plastic would be too weak and glass too have and not good against the heat engine produces
That’s weird my friend and I were discussing this exact topic earlier, he was joking around and saying he should get a transparent bonnet and put lights in the engine bay. You wouldn’t want a transparent bonnet in the real world because it would advertise all your expensive mods to would be thieves and the po-po. You wouldn’t need one at a car meet because why not just have no bonnet? If it’s only temporary for the show then no bonnet or bonnet up is easier. One minor benefit I can think of is it would be cool to see the engine moving around under load. Wouldn’t be too expensive to make out of poly-carbonate.
So here’s my plan - go to car meet, take off licence plates, take off hood, put on transparent hood with key locks (like something that you can unlock by a key) and you’re done.
This custom mustang is cool. You can see the whipple supercharger
