What do cold air intakes do?,and why do people hate them

A cold air intake is a simple mod which has one core function: “taking in colder air”, this results in more air in your engine which results in a bit more power.

Why they are hated is for a couple of reasons, if you ask me. My opinion is, if you do it right there is nothing to hate.

Nobody hates them! It’s just when noobs go on about how it adds a squillion horse power to their riced up hatchback, that’s when people get pi$$ed. that’s all. Really though they sound great.
