Porsche Carrera GT vs Porsche 918 Spyder: My perspective.

After test driving a Porsche Carrera GT and an S-GO Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach, I want to share you my experience, and my head to head review of the craziest cars that Porsche has ever made to date. Successor vs Predecessor. Old vs New. Which one would you take? Alright, let’s start with the new boy, the 918 Spyder.

The 918 Spyder is one of my favorite hypercars. With its rivalry against the McLaren P1, and the Ferrari LaFerrari, there are a lot of hypes on these hypercars (get it?). Unfortunately, I haven’t got the chance to drive the P1 and the LaFerrari yet. Hopefully I can do that somewhere in the future. The 918 that I drove was a Weissach Package equipped 918 with the Salzburg livery. I think when it comes to the looks, I’ll take a 918 over the P1 or the LaFerrari. It has a HUGE trunk that can be used to put the targa roof. The trunk is actually larger than the P1’s or the Ferrari’s. It is powered by a proper naturally aspirated V8 that makes 608 horsepower and two electric motors producing an additional 208 kw (279 hp). All-electric range of 12 mi. The way the car drives in the Hybrid mode is very comfortable. The car that I drove was equipped with the optional full racing bucket seats and they are not that bad, actually. Is it daily capable? Well, for a car that can do 6:57 on the Nurburgring, it’s actually very good. I can fit a small suitcase and a laptop in the trunk. And if I want to go on a sunny day cruise, I can remove the carbon fiber roof and put it in the trunk. Unlike the Bugatti Veyron that handles like an apartment building in a landslide, this handles, pretty similar to a Cayman GT4. It has a very clever AWD system. Top speed? 211. It’s not that quick in a straight line, sure. But that acceleration is absolutely brutal. It took them a whole decade to replace the Carrera GT. But I’m not gonna care about it. Because the 918 is simply a perfection. Speaking of the Carrera GT….

Now let’s move to its predecessor. I am a fan of big engines. I am a fan of manual gearboxes. I am a fan of Porsche. I am a fan of lunatic cars. If you have the same taste as me, then the Carrera GT is going to be the perfect car for you. Oh, it has a great sound too. The Carrera GT V10 is on the list of The Most Epic V10 Cars In The World

It is a car that is pretty much undriveable. No aids, no assists, just a steering wheel, 3 pedals, and a manual gearbox for you. I almost spun out a couple of times driving that thing. Putting your foot down in a Carrera GT is pretty much a brilliant way to commit suicide (no, it’s not). The CGT is powered by a mid-mounted 350 ci (5.7L) V10 that produces 605 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 435 lb-ft of torque @ 5750 rpm. Ferdinand must be proud of this thing (and the 918, of course). Back in its day, the CGT’s main rival is the Ferrari Enzo, the Saleen S7, and the SLR. I’ve driven the Saleen and the Enzo and I must say, they’re not that involving to drive. Oh, just like its successor, the Carrera GT also has a removable roof that, again, can be placed inside the bonnet. Speaking of the bonnet, the Carrera GT’s bonnet space is also pretty huge. I can fit two mid-sized back packs in there. Now, with that bonnet space, can you daily it? I’ll say you can but you wouldn’t want to. Why? Unlike the 918 which is a hybrid that can get 40+ mpg, the Carrera GT is just a naturally aspirated V10 which gets EPA city: 10 mpg
EPA highway: 16 mpg.

That’s it from me, ladies and gentlemen. Please give me a comment to let me know what are your thoughts on this and what are your thoughts on the new post creator and tell me how can I improve.
