How do you get a turbo flutter? I thought that it happened when you either removed or just didn't have a blow off valve. Am I wrong?

To my understanding the blow off valve makes the turbo bark/ flutter sound. The blow off valve helps prevent a surge in the engine from the turbo, so there is constant air passing through, and when you let off the gas pedal all the “extra” air gets bypassed through the blow off valve and away from the engine making mad stuttututututu’s. I’m pretty sure this is how it works if not my bad !!

BOV and Wastegate both make sounds. The question is does your system vent to atmosphere (more noise) or into the exhaust (less noise and common on OEM setups).

Either way, for more noise you can go to an open intake (short ram or cowl intakes are the loudest) since stock intakes are designed to muffle this sound. Or on some cars, you can use something like the Forge Blow-Off Plate.
