i don’t know the costs of a 2jz, i never had one, but i think that the n54 is quite low cost to mod especially if you are not looking to crazy amounts of hp, you can get the engine to produce 400+ hp with less than 2k$. On the big numbers, i.e. north of 500 hp yes i completelly agree with you the 2jz must indeed be cheaper.
There’s also the M50 engine, there’s quite a craze about them in northern europe where you see boosted M50 swapped E30’s producing 1000+ HP
Im sorry but, no BMW engine is capable of reaching the boost level of the 2jz.
