Depends, cant say for standard but i have Revo Stage 1 and an SPS switch and can switch between 95 and 98 and noticed big change to 98. Also the tuner informed me Revo stage 1 was done on Shell V Power.

You won’t notice a huge difference between RON 98 and RON 95 or even the E10 dishwater on the normal engines (I drive a 1.25). There is no reason to fill in RON 98 instead of RON 95 in normal cars. If the engine doesn’t neccessarily need RON 98, you just pay more for the same. The engine gets better knock resistance. That surely won’t hurt the engine, but it won’t drastically improve it either. So much for the standard Fiestas… or any non-sports car on that matter.

However, judging from the people who have one, the Ecoboost (especially the ST) engines have a difference between RON 95 and RON 98. The Fiesta ST can be filled with RON 95, 98 and 100 as well as E10. All of them is possible, but Ford really reccomends RON 98 or higher. The engine will run considerably better with RON 98 and if you spend 20’000€ on a Fiesta, these 5 cents per litre won’t make that much of a difference.

I only ever fill up my ST with 98 or higher. Usually V Power. There is definitely a noticeable difference even with just how the engine sounds at idle. Either way, higher RON will make your engine run a lot smoother
