Spare donut tire, can I drive over 100 miles

Hello everyone,

So today my celica front passenger side tire blasted(not sure how to call this but it happens when I drove over a hole).

I replaced the bad tire with the spare donut one, but the problem is the other tires I’m using (215-45-17) is noticeably bigger than the Donut and when I drive with the spare tire the handle wheel is shaking, not uncontrollable but annoying.

The problem is, I’m a delivery driver and tomorrow is mother’s day. So I’ll have to drive a lot (from home to work is already 20 miles), maybe 100 miles in total before I come back home. Yet another problem that is REALLY bugging me right now is tomorrow is the last day of working, I’ll travel to another country for a month so I don’t really want to spend $$$ on tires which I will leave car at home for a month.

If I drive slowly (maybe slower than 50mph) for 100 miles, will it work out well? I mean is there any serious mechanical problem with using spare donut tire for 100 miles and leave it on the car for a month?

Or should I change it as soon as I can? I know this is stupid questions but if I’m not flying in the next day I’d change it now.

PS. Sorry for some confusing wording, I’m still learning English xD

Definitely better to be safe than sorry especially with that shaking

I agree with getting new tires to be safe

A better idea if you must use the donut tyre is to put it the back wheel furthest from your steering and bring one of your good rear tyres to the front so if its a lhd take your rear right tyre infront and put the donut there

Just put the donut on the non drive end of the car.

It's N8 M8

Most donuts give an exact amount you can drive on it. If it can do 100 and is a drive tire take a normal tire and put it on where your donut is needed to so don’t mess up your tranny

can easily drive 100 miles, but don’t go faster than 45MPH.. that’s the speed rating on them.. Faster than that and you run the risk of a blow out..
