Perfect way to launch fwd

Hey CTzens, I have a low powered front wheel drive hatchback and i want to know how i can improve my 0-100 times.
What’s the best way to launch a fwd car for better acceleration? Are there any simple mods i can do to improve it further?

Just dont floor it. Thats all i know. Keep it in the middle of your rpm ;). And buy better tires and suspension

Stiffening the rear is good right? Does stiffening the front help too?

Cold air intake, I have a high velocity upper intake also. And I lowered the back pressure so hight power in the higher rpm band. Also performance headers. I’ve noticed power difference

Unfortunately in a light car like mine, wheelspin will be a problem. I can do a burnout in second gear in this one.

Check if your car has a dual mass flywheel. Swapping that out with a lighter one helps.

Keep the revs at about 4k if its a petrol engine and not a honda.
If its really not that high powered just dump the clutch but not like really that hard just let it go very fast not like pop it. At the same time floor it. How much hp?

And how much weight?

It’s a 796cc I3, Suzuki 800. About 50 HP and 70Nm torque.
If I floor it at around 4k rpm, I get wheelspin. Tyres are slightly old, I’m getting wider ones around August. Weight is around 650 kg (1,400 lbs).

My focus zx3, with ATX, will spin the tires easily from a stop. It actually can get annoying.

Lol yeah that’s the main reason for this post!

The only time my ZX3 (automatic) gets wheel spin is if I floor it from a stop while turning at an intersection. My car has grip forever in a straight line. And I only have all season tires on it.

Part of it is the weight transfer from front to back since it’s FWD, the tires lose some grip. I’ve stiffened up most of my suspension, just need to get a few more parts for the rear. I do need new tires, but that has to wait like a week.

First gear, full brake, bring up rmp to about 2500 or until you feel your car start to move, then no brake, 3/4 throttle till full traction, then full thrittle, shift at the end of your power band, oh and keep it straight. Lll

Does it make a difference if use the handbrake instead?
